Bogotá: City of the Lost (2024) is a South Korean crime drama set in the 1990s, following Guk-hee, a young man in his late teens who moves to Bogotá, Colombia, with his family. This is after the devastating Asian financial crisis, which forced many South Korean families into difficult financial situations. Guk-hee’s family, hoping to find a better life, settles in the unfamiliar and complex environment of Bogotá, Colombia, far away from their homeland.

The city, however, is not the safe haven they imagined. Guk-hee and his family struggle to adapt to life in a foreign country, facing language barriers, culture shock, and the challenges of starting over. While trying to make ends meet, Guk-hee soon realizes that the local Korean community is not just made up of hardworking immigrants but also includes those involved in shady dealings, underground activities, and even crime. The darker side of Bogotá reveals itself, and Guk-hee is reluctantly drawn into this dangerous world.
